A cohesive entrance, from the front door to the staircase
We designed, supplied and installed a bespoke Accoya timber entrance door, matching side fixed windows and a stained-glass staircase window for this North London home.
The project was all about creating a cohesive entrance that respects the traditional character of the property, while combining bespoke craftsmanship, decorative glass and high-performance timber.

The Timber
A bespoke Accoya timber entrance
The new entrance door and matching side fixed windows were manufactured from Accoya®, a premium modified timber renowned for its exceptional durability, stability and resistance to moisture and decay.
Accoya is particularly well suited to external joinery, making it an excellent choice for an entrance door exposed to the changing British weather. Its dimensional stability also makes it ideal for detailed bespoke joinery and high-quality painted finishes.
The door was finished in a soft sage-green, a colour that sits beautifully against the existing brickwork and provides a subtle, contemporary touch while retaining the traditional feel of the property.

The Glass
Beautiful bespoke stained glass
A major feature of the entrance is the bespoke stained glass incorporated into the door and two side fixed windows, designed and made in our own workshop.
The decorative glass features an intricate botanical design, combining textured glass with carefully selected coloured pieces. The result is a design that provides character and privacy while allowing natural light to filter through the entrance.

Upstairs
Continuing the design on the staircase
To complete the project, we also designed and installed a fixed stained-glass staircase window.
This window features a more geometric design incorporating a central floral motif and a beautiful combination of coloured and textured glass.
Importantly, the colours were carefully selected to complement the stained glass used in the front entrance, creating a visual connection between the exterior entrance and the interior of the home.
As natural light passes through the staircase window, the coloured glass brings warmth and character into what could otherwise be an overlooked area of the house.
The staircase window sits beneath the stair string — a geometric grid around a central floral motif, in colours picked to match the entrance.
The Result
Traditional character with modern performance
What makes this project particularly special is the way the different elements work together.
From the Accoya timber entrance door and matching side windows to the bespoke stained glass and staircase window, every detail was considered as part of one overall design.
The finished result combines the character and craftsmanship of traditional joinery with the performance of modern materials, creating a welcoming entrance that is both beautiful and built to last.
